Auf der offiziellen GUILD WARS Website gibt es nun einen neuen Film, der InGame-Action von Guild Wars in verschiedenen Bereichen Tyrias zeigt. Die Musik stammt vom GUILD WARS-Musiker Jeremy Soule.

Gamasutra.com hatte die Möglichkeit mit Jeff Strain, Chefdesigner von GUILD WARS zu sprechen. Im Interview geht es um frühe Designentscheidungen von Guild Wars und deren tatsächliche Ausführung.
Ein Auszug:
It means you don't have to feel guilty to be paying a subscription fee and be not actively playing the game. Another comparison is that Harry Potter books. They come out every two years, and it's enjoyable when another one comes out, but it's not as if you've been reading Harry Potter for the entire time between books. Here's something I enjoy. I'm going to extract the fun out of it, and then I'll do something else until the next one comes out… and I'll have fun with that too.

Im Internet kursieren derzeit die wildesten Gerüchte über ein Beta Weekend Event, welches nur für Skandinavier zugänglich und dieses Wochenende stattfinden soll.
Ausschlaggenbend dafür ist eine Pressemitteilung, die auf der schwedischen Seite "FZ.SE" veröffentlicht wurde. Darin heißt es:
We're very excited to give Scandinavian Guild Wars fans an exclusive chance to play the game ahead of launch,” says Stephen Reid, Content and Community Manager, NCsoft Europe. “This is a great opportunity for pre-order customers to experience Guild Wars' unique style of online gameplay.”

Noch ist allerdings unklar, ob es sich dabei nicht um einen verfrühten Aprilscherz handelt. Vor allem das Datum des Weekends, beginnend am 1. April, ließe darauf schließen.

UPDATE:
Alex Weekes, Mitarbeiter von NCSoft Europe, hat die Nachricht in einem Forenpost der amerikanischen Fansite TGH bestätigt.
Zitat: Hi guys. I can confirm that this is a valid press release and that Scandinavia will be having a BWE this weekend. It is *not* an April Fool joke. Scandinavian preorder customers will have received the same number of events as other European preorder customers; they are not receiving anything extra as a result of this weekend.
